- These Swan Neck hand chisels are a little smaller than our large ones. they are specially designed for hand carving hollow objects such as spoons, bowls, ladles, and other carved vessels. Keep in mind that wider blades will remove more material with each cut, but they will also require more effort when pushing by hand.
- These chisels can be used from start to finish when hollowing a spoon or bowl. They especially excel at refining and smoothing pieces that have been rough-shaped with an adze or hatchet.
- Bevel geometry and cutting angles are critical when carving with gouges. These tools are designed to make the carving process as efficient, controlled, and comfortable as possible. Each chisel arrives sharp and ready to use, though a light honing of the cutting edge may be beneficial before first use to achieve your preferred edge.
