Hand Forged in Austria
This is a very old design of axe. I have had a hard time tracking exactly where it comes from in Europe. There are similar traits in the French Felling Axe, Finish or some Scandinavian Forest Axes but I think the best example is from the Easter European Forest axe. It is a very versatile design allowing you to work from different angle and get a lower profile to the stump of the tree. It also has the unique bearded guard to help prevent damage due to over strike. All and all this is a very interesting axe design to get your hands on. It is hand forged ground and finished with blue paint. 3.5 inch blade, 34 inch overall, weights 4.5 pounds. All measurement can vary due to being hand made.
