Description

The KA33 Shortwave Active Loop Antenna helps you get the maximum benefit from your world band radio. With the KA33 active antenna system all the stations are clearer, and weak or hard to hear stations come within range. It also helps to reduce noise and makes many stations crystal clear. The telescoping spreader antenna is 15 inches when fully extended, but folds to 6 inches for storage. The KA33 includes a suction cup and a clip to allow the antenna to mount to a window or curtain which often makes for the best reception. The loop antenna is connected to the amplifier, which is connected to the tuning box, via a 15 foot cable allowing you to place your radio in a convenient place for listening while leaving the antenna positioned for best reception. After tuning your shortwave radio to the desired shortwave station, slowly adjust the tuning dial on the control box to achieve the maximum volume and minimum noise level. This setting usually works for all the stations in a shortwave band so you only need to adjust the KA33 tuning dial when changing to a station in a different band. The KA33’s tunable amplifier has a frequency range of 3.90-22.00 Mhz. The KA33 can be plugged into a 1/8 inch plug, or clips onto your shortwave radio’s telescoping antenna with the included adapter. A second clip on the adapter connects to the ground on desktop radios. The controller box holds the 2 AAA batteries that power the KA33. It has an on/off switch and power LED. The KA33 fits into the plastic package for convenient storage. The KA33 also includes a ferrite bar antenna that, when placed along side your radio, enhances its AM reception sensitivity in the 520KHz-1710Khz frequency range. This update allows KA33 to boost both the shortwave and AM reception with just a quick change of plugs.
